Dr. Daina Ramey Berry is the Chair of the History Department at The University of Texas at Austin.

Her new book, written with Kali Nicole Gross, is “A Black Women’s History of the United States,” which looks at the American narrative through the eyes of eleven black women who had a significant impact on the history of the United States.

She’s also a project lede of Teaching Texas Slavery, a digital history project which aims to help elementary school teachers rethink how we teach younger students about slavery and race.
